Day 12

Good afternoon, 

Today we had Mr. H come in a spend some time with us today. Mr. H is another teacher completing a trial day. The students seemed to enjoy learning from him today. Thank you Mr. H for working with our class.

Calendar: Today the calendar routine was led by the students this morning.  
Phonics: Today the students continued to work on Jolly Phonics. We review the sound, action and song for the letter "Ii"!  The students also completed a worksheet practicing the correct way to print the letter "Ii" and they identified words with the "Ii" sound. 

Journal:  For journal today, students wrote ways in which they show someone they are a good listener. We are becoming great listeners in SK. 

Math: Today the students continued to practicing counting backwards from 10-1. We had some extra time to spend on math today because we did not have art, so the students worked with numbers 1-20. We practiced printing these numbers and we were reminded that every teen number begins with 1. The students completed a worksheet filling in the missing numbers from 1-20. 

Lunch/ Recess 1

Unit of Inquiry:Today the students reviewed the 5 senses. We continued to talk about sight. Students listened to a story about sight and then we had the chance to talk about the different parts of our eye. Together we cut and pasted the parts of the eye to an eye diagram. The students all did a terrific job. We will review this concept again tomorrow.

Reminders: 

-       Students are to come to school on Monday and Wednesday in their gym uniform. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, students are to come to school in their full school uniform.

-       Please make sure your child has a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of gym shoes labeled and to be left at the school for their indoor shoes this year.

-       Please initial agendas on the right side of the book daily to indicate you have read the agenda slip on the left hand side. Any new information that pops up throughout the week will be written on the right side of the agenda.
