Welcome!
I am so excited to be
your teacher for this upcoming 2015-2016 school year at St. Jude’s Academy. It
is going to be a year full of fun, learning and lots of adventures.
I hope you had a fabulous summer and I can’t wait
to hear all about it. I am also so excited to meet you during Orientation Night, September 8th,
at 7:00pm. It is highly recommended all
attend as new procedures and policies have been implemented.
A few important things you should know prior to
school starting:
1. There
will not be our traditional HOT
LUNCH program offered the first week of school (September 9-11) BUT we will be selling pizza at $2.00 a slice and students are welcome to purchase this
daily during their lunch times in the cafeteria. If you would like to purchase
pizza for your child, please send the money in the agenda daily with a note
indicating cheese or pepperoni pizza and how many slices. Thank you J
2. September Hot Lunch forms will
be sent home the first day of school with many new items being offered. Please
look for the new menus in your child’s agenda. All forms are due Friday, September 11th (no
exceptions).
3. “A Guide to a Successful Kindergarten
Year” will provide you with more information on our classroom routines. This
will be handed out on the first day of school.
4. During
the year, parents will also be able to read my blog on a daily basis, which
will keep you in-touch with that is happening in our classroom. The link to my
blog is http://gencosja.blogspot.ca As well, please do not hesitate to email me
at jgenco@stjudesacademy.com
regarding any questions or concerns.
5. On September 17th, from 4-7pm, SJA
will be holding a Welcome BBQ for all families to attend. Pre-order forms for
food will be provided on Friday,
September 11th.
6. Just
a reminder, students are to come to school on Wednesday, September 9th in their gym uniform. Required
gym uniform days are Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday,
students are to come to school in their full school uniform.
7. Please make sure your child has a pair of
black dress shoes and a pair of gym shoes labeled and to be left at the school
for their indoor shoes this year.
It is my mission to instill a love for learning
in my students and I am thrilled to be working alongside you to achieve this.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. It is so important to
keep communication open between us, as we have the same goal in mind – your child’s success!
I look forward to a great year together!
