Day 13

Good afternoon, 

Today we had Mr. H come in a spend some time with us again today. Mr. H is another teacher completing a trial day. The students seemed to enjoy learning from him today. Thank you Mr. H for working with our class. 

At this time as well, I am sorry to say that Ms. Cassandra will no longer be working with our class. She has been reassigned to another class within the school in greater need. We wish her the best of luck!

Calendar: Today the calendar routine was led by Marcus.  
Phonics: Today the students continued to work on Jolly Phonics. We review the sound, action and song for the letter "Ii" and "Tt"!  Today we had show and share. Thank you to the students who brought something in. 

Journal:  For journal today, the students wrote three words that begin with "Ii." We are getting really good at this task. Over the last week, I have really seen an improvement in everyones writing.

Math: Today we spent some time reviewing our numbers and applying what we have learned to a few worksheets. This was spent as more of a catch up period on items we didn't get finished this week. 

Lunch/ Recess 1 
Unit of Inquiry:Today the students reviewed the 5 senses. We continued to talk about sight. Students listened to a story about sight and then we reviewed the different parts of our eye. Students then created a "rip" art eye. Take a look:

Pack Up 
Daily 5:  At the end of the day today, we read a story about doing our homework. We discussed the importance of completing our homework.

Reminders: 

-       Students are to come to school on Monday and Wednesday in their gym uniform. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, students are to come to school in their full school uniform.

-       Please make sure your child has a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of gym shoes labeled and to be left at the school for their indoor shoes this year.

-       Please initial agendas on the right side of the book daily to indicate you have read the agenda slip on the left hand side. Any new information that pops up throughout the week will be written on the right side of the agenda.
