Calendar: Today the calendar routine was led by Hunter. 
Phonics: Today the students continued to work on Jolly Phonics. We review the sound, action and song for the letter "Cc" and "Kk"!  The students also completed a worksheet practicing the correct way to print the letter "Cc" and "Kk" and they identified words with the "Cc,Kk" sound. 

Journal:  For journal today, students wrote about what they are thankful for. This was really well done and is posted on our door for you to take a look. 

Daily 5 explanation: Today we went over the expectations of Daily 5 as we are changing the students' activities for working on words and word work. 

Math: Today the students completed their pre-assessment for the patterning unit. This is to see what they already know coming in and the areas I need to focus on with the students. 

Lunch/ Recess 1 
French: Please see Mlle. Hou's blog for more information. 
Unit of Inquiry:Today the students reviewed the 5 senses. We continued to talk about smelling. The students listened to a story about smelling and on a worksheet, they circled the things they can smell. The students also wrote about their favourite thing to smell.

Pack Up 
Daily 5:  Today we continued with our Daily 5 rotation. .

Reminders:

-       Students are to come to school on Monday and Wednesday in their gym uniform. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, students are to come to school in their full school uniform.

-       Please make sure your child has a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of gym shoes labeled and to be left at the school for their indoor shoes this year.

-       Please initial agendas on the right side of the book daily to indicate you have read the agenda slip on the left hand side. Any new information that pops up throughout the week will be written on the right side of the agenda.
