Day 28

Good afternoon, 

A student in MYP is raising awareness for poverty and tomorrow she is asking that students bring in $2.00 to dress in their casual clothes. Proceeds will go to the Eden Food Bank. Thank you in advance.

Calendar: Today the calendar routine was led by Arya. 

Phonics: Today the students continued to work on Jolly Phonics. We learned the sound, action and song for the letter "Mm"!  The students also completed a worksheet practicing the correct way to print the letter "Mm" and they identified words with the "Mm" sound. We also practiced our "Mm's" with play dough and we brainstormed a list of words that being with this sound. 

Journal- Today for their journal, the students wrote about their favourite sense. We had some fantastic answers as to why whatever sense their chose was their favourite. 

Math: Today we reviewed what we learned about patterns. The students were introduced to ABC patterns. Together we created some ABC patterns on the board identifying the core of the pattern as well as the type (colour, shape, big/ small). The students created an ABC pattern in their journal.

Unit of Inquiry:Today we reviewed everything we have learned about our senses. The students complete a booklet discussing things they like to see, hear, taste, touch and smell. They drew a picture to follow. Tomorrow we will begin our in class portion of our summative for this unit.
