Day 23

Good afternoon, 

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! 

Take a look at our day in SK!

Calendar: Today the calendar routine was led by Amitis. 
Phonics: Today the students continued to work on Jolly Phonics. We learned the sound, action and song for the letter "Hh"!  The students also completed a worksheet practicing the correct way to print the letter "Hh" and they identified words with the "Hh" sound. We also practiced our "Hh's" with play dough and we brainstormed a list of words that being with this sound. 

Library- Today we went to the library and returned our books from last week. This week the students chose a new book to bring into the classroom for daily 5/ silent reading time. 

Math: Today we reviewed what we learned about patterns. The students then took a tour around the school and pointed out any patterns they see. When we returned to class, the students wrote the pattern they saw in their journal. 

Lunch/ Recess 1

Unit of Inquiry:Today we reviewed what it means to be an Inquirer. The IB learner profile from last month. The students listened to the story How Big is a Million, where a penguin asks a lot of questions and is very curious to find out the answer. The students then wrote about how this story relates to being an Inquirer.

Daily 5:  Today we began our daily 5 rotation for the week.

Reminders:

-       Students are to come to school on Monday and Wednesday in their gym uniform. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, students are to come to school in their full school uniform.

-       Please make sure your child has a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of gym shoes labeled and to be left at the school for their indoor shoes this year.

-       Please initial agendas on the right side of the book daily to indicate you have read the agenda slip on the left hand side. Any new information that pops up throughout the week will be written on the right side of the agenda.
