Day 21

Hello everyone, 


Calendar: Today the calendar routine was led by Gabriella. 
Phonics: Today the students were introduced to  the "Ee" sound, action and song.  Together we brainstormed a list of "Ee" words. We also created the letter "Ee" with our play dough.

Journal:  Today during journal time, the students listened to a story about Thanksgiving. We then discussed how we celebrate this holiday with our families.

Math: Today the students were introduced to patterning. Students learned that a pattern always REPEATS. We practiced a few patterns together. The students also learned that every pattern has a core (the part that repeats). Together we completed a few patterns identifying the core. Students had the chance to apply what they had learned to a worksheet. Everyone did a great job! 
Lunch/ Recess 1

Unit of Inquiry:Today the students reviewed our 5 senses. Students together listed the 5 senses and we matched the sense to the correct word on the board. Today we were introduced to the tasting sense. We listened to a story about tasting and learned that our tongues have taste buds and we can taste 4 different things ie. sweet, salty, sour and bitter. We gave examples for each. In our journals we wrote in a list 5 things we can taste.

Pack Up 
Daily 5:  Today we continued with the Daily 5 process. The students love this part of the day. :)

Reminders:

-       Students are to come to school on Monday and Wednesday in their gym uniform. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, students are to come to school in their full school uniform.

-       Please make sure your child has a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of gym shoes labeled and to be left at the school for their indoor shoes this year.
