Day 24

Happy Thursday!

Calendar: Today the calendar routine was led by Nathan.  
Phonics: Today the students continued to work on Jolly Phonics. We reviewed the sound, action and song for the letter "Rr"!  The students completed a worksheet identifying words with the "Rr" sound.

Journal: Today we wrote: I like school because... and two reasons why we like school. 

Math: We continued to learn about patterns. We reviewed that a pattern always REPEATS and every pattern has a core. Today we discussed action patterns and that an action is a movement. We did the chicken dance and head and shoulders and discussed how these are action patterns.

Unit of Inquiry: Today we learned about what it means to be knowledgeable. The students listened to the story Officer Buckle and learned how he was knowledgeable. Take a look:

Reminders:

-       Students are to come to school on Monday and Wednesday in their gym uniform. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, students are to come to school in their full school uniform.

-       Please make sure your child has a pair of black dress shoes and a pair of gym shoes labeled and to be left at the school for their indoor shoes this year.

-       Please initial agendas on the right side of the book daily to indicate you have read the agenda slip on the left hand side. Any new information that pops up throughout the week will be written on the right side of the agenda.
